My family as Barbies

My Family As Barbies
Little more than a year ago I received my old Barbie collection back from my parents and sister who were holding them for me. I went through the bins and boxes with my children, and the memories started flying back. We had so much fun setting up the sets and looking through the massive collection of dolls. As we were playing I noticed I had no dolls that represented us and that's when the search began.

First there is me. I have brown hair, blue eyes and peach skin that is a very rare Barbie combination to come across. So I was very pleased to see that there was a Target only Barbie with that combo. I eventually switched her body with an older Barbie fashionista articulated body. (I need to be able to hug my family even in the Barbie world.)

Next to come was my husband. He is brown in every way and once again a hard color combination to come across. I then found out about the T.J. Kenya doll. I got him off eBay. I am very pleased with him especially the fact that he is fully articulated. Then I had fun updating his face to look more like my husbands.

My daughter has tan skin, brown eyes and very curly dark brown hair. When I saw the Moxie Girlz Mini at Target it took me a while to agree. Yes she has the perfect hair but is a little darker and has blue eyes. When I finally got her my daughter agreed on her mini me. One day I might add brown to her eyes.

My Son has light tan skin, brown curly hair and chocolate eyes. Now where am I going to find a boy like that? I got creative and found a Kelly doll in the right coloring on eBay. I did a re-root with dark brown yarn and put boy clothes on with little tennis shoes. My son has so much fun with his mini me and even takes him places.

Have a believable day!
